Murray's Threes Guide Marywood Past PSU Hazleton

Scranton, PA – Ashley Murray scored 19 points to lead Marywood University to a 75-54 victory over Penn State Hazleton Saturday in the Insalaco Arena. The Pacers remain undefeated with a 3-0 record for the first time in five seasons.

Reaching double figures for the third straight game, Murray connected on seven of 15 shots and a 4-for-6 on 3-point attempts. She added five rebounds.

Entering the game fifth in the country in 3-pointers made, Marywood continued its success from long range with eight treys. Morgann Haduck added three 3-pointers for nine points.

Danielle Terranella had 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Marywood came into Saturday's contest in the top 10 for assists per game. The Pacers matched its season average with 21 assists. Alexa Gerchman supplied five assists, and Brittany Mang also dished out five to go with her team-high four steals.

The Pacers shots 35.8 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from long range. The Pacers out-rebounded the Lions 58-41.

Marywood jumped out to a double-digit lead in the first 10 minutes that the Lions were unable to recover from. Penn State Hazleton was unable to get within single digits for the game's final 30 minutes.

Penn State Hazleton's Maria Farrell scored 15 points. Alexis Daly added 13 points. Stephanie Guevara tallied a game-high 12 boards.

The Lions went 19-of-22 from the charity stripe for an 86.4 percentage.

Marywood opens its Colonial States Athletic Conference schedule this week with three games. The Pacers travel to Cairn University on Monday and Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday. Marywood hosts Rosemont College Saturday at 1:00 pm.
