Marywood Teams in CSAC Post-Season Play

Scranton, PA - In addition to a 2013 CSAC Championship from Women's Cross Country and a runner-up finish from Women's Tennis this past weekend, three Marywood fall sports teams enter post-season play this week with title shots in mind.  The men's soccer team is the top seed and will host a semifinal game Thursday at 7pm.  #5 Women's Soccer opens on the road Monday at Centenary, while the fourth-seeded Volleyball team hosts Baptist Bible Tuesday night.

The men's soccer team enjoyed a record-setting regular season, going unbeaten in CSAC play (9-0) and owns a 12-2-2 mark overall.  They are unbeaten in their last nine contests, and will host the lowest remaining seed from Tuesday's first round games on Thursday, November 7 at 7:00pm on Marywood's turf field.

The women's soccer team opens CSAC post-season play Monday at 7:30pm against Centenary.  Marywood, who qualified for the 7th consecutive post-season tournament, is the #5 seed and will meet #4 Centenary at Hackettstown High School.  The winner will move on to face either #1 Rosemont or #2 Cabrini on Wednesday, depending on results from the other quarterfinal game.  Marywood and Centenary tied their regular season contest 0-0 after two overtimes.

The women's volleyball team is seeded fourth and will host #5 Baptist Bible College Tuesday night at 7:00 pm in the Insalaco Arena.  Marywood is 17-10 on the year and went 8-3 in the CSAC which included a 3-0 win over BBC in the regular season.  The winner will move on to the semifinals Thursday night against either #1 Cabrini or #2 Cairn, depending on results from the other quarterfinal contest.
