Scranton, PA – Centenary College won its first Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer championship Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Marywood University. The Cyclones earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since joining Division III in 1997.

Marywood (13-3-2) becomes CSAC runner-up for the third time in four seasons. The Pacers are eligible for ECAC playoffs next weekend. Saturday's loss end's Marywood's 10-game winning streak. The Pacers drop their first game at home of the season to fall to 9-1-1 at Pacers Turf Field.

Centenary scored the lone goal of the game in the 25th minute. At the base line, Quinn Khouri shoveled a pass backwards to Luis Marin. Marin one-timed the pass into net from six yards out to put the Cyclones ahead by one.

The goal post was unkind to the Pacers, twice stopping Marywood shots from producing an equalizer. Fresh off his first goal of the season in the CSAC semifinal win over Neumann University, senior Paul Fedorczyk's shot hit the far post and nearly caromed into the net before Cyclone goalkeeper Jesse Goleman snagged it. Daniel Hull had the best opportunity of the game on a breakaway chance in the 72nd. His shot hit the post towards Christian Lawlor, whose rebound shot was blocked by a Cyclone defender.

Marywood's Justin Sunseri made six saves in goal in 71 minutes, 55 seconds. Austin Wright came into reserve to stop four shots in 18 minutes, 5 seconds. Goleman stopped two shots.

Only two of Marywood's 20 shots were on target. The Cyclones, despite being outshot 20-15, held onto an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal. Centenary also had a 10-4 lead in corner kicks.

A season-high attendance of 598 witnessed the CSAC championship game.
