Men's Basketball Opens CSAC Slate, Downs Cairn

Langhorne, PA - Shane Kellaher led three Pacers in double figures as Marywood University won their third consecutive game with a 75-60 triumph at Cairn University Monday evening. Marywood, winners of three straight, improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with the win. Cairn fell to 0-4, 0-2 CSAC. Kellaher had a game high 20 points in the victory.

The Pacers, who led by as much as 22 in the opening half, never trailed in the game. Marywood jumped out to a 15-9 lead thanks to one of Kellaher's four three pointers in the game. Kellaher would finish the game 4-for-6 from behind the arc. Marywood would then go up 22 (41-19) on a pair of free throws from Kendall Harris and would carry a 41-25 lead into the break.

The Pacers shot 54 percent from the floor in the opening half and despite cooling off a bit in the second frame finished the game making nearly 48 percent of their shots from the floor and 47 percent from 3-point range. 

Marywood also got double-digit efforts from Harris (16 points) and Shane Letthand (17 points). Overall, Kellaher was 6-for-8 from the floor which included a 4-of-6 night from three point range and a perfect 4-for-4 mark from the charity stripe.  Jonathan Velazquez dished out a game-high six assists in the win and also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.

Marywood returns to action Wednesday when it hosts No. 9 Cabrini College at 7:00 pm in the Insalaco Arena.
