Box Score

Radnor, PA - Marywood University women's basketball finishes the regular season in fifth place in the Colonial States Athletic Conference after falling to Cabrini College 66-40. The Cavaliers remain undefeated in conference play after holding the Pacers to 26.8 percent shooting.

Marywood (14-11 overall, 11-5 CSAC) comes in the middle of a three-way conference tiebreaker to both Neumann University and Keystone College. The Pacers will travel to Neumann Monday for the first round of the CSAC playoffs.

Courtney Murray blocked five shots for the Pacers.

The Pacers had no players reach double-digit figures in scoring. Morgann Haduck, Alexa Gerchman and Lindsey Schroth each scored six points. Haduck made all four free throws to finish the season leading the league in 90 percent free-throw rate in conference play.

Since three teams finished with an 11-5 record, CSAC tournament seedings came down to a complicated tiebreaker system. Neumann defeated both Marywood and Keystone, so it comes out of the tie on top. Marywood and Keystone split its pair of games. The next tiebreaker look at both teams' records against the rest of the conference, starting from the top down. Neither Keystone or Marywood beat top-seeded Cabrini or No. 2 Gwynedd-Mercy. The Pacers defeated No. Rosemont 64-50 on Jan. 19, and Keystone never defeated the Ravens. Therefore, Marywood takes the fifth spot over the Giants.

Both teams turned the ball over 30 times. Gerchman picked up four steals.

Cabrini was led by Annie Rivituso's double-double. She scored 18 points and accumulated 11 rebounds. Brittany Sandone netted 13 points, and Amber Keys had 10 points.

Marywood's only leads came off a Nora Joyce jumper and a Maggie Presnal layup on the first two possessions of the game. From that 4-2 Pacer lead, the Cavaliers went on a seven-point run. Brittany Mang cut the deficit to one point at 9-8 with 16:28 left in the half.

The Pacers were within arm's reach until a 14-4 run over the last 8:51 of the first half put the Cavaliers ahead 35-21 at the break.

Presnal had a team-best five rebounds.
