Aston, PA – Getting off to a slow start had been Marywood's crux all season. The Marywood University men's lacrosse team wasted no time Saturday, scoring the game's first nine goals en route to a 16-6 victory over Neumann University in both teams' Colonial States Athletic Conference opener.

Marywood (2-6 overall, 1-0 CSAC) held the Knights scoreless until 2:54 remaining in the second quarter. The Pacers scored four goals in the first quarter, and tacked on the first two of the second half to own an 11-1 lead before the Neumann (1-6 overall, 0-1 CSAC) offense began to click.

Dylan Swope tied a school record with five goals, adding an assist for a six-point effort. Riley Dobel (three goals, two assists) and Sam Trill (two goals, three assists) each supplied five points. Greg Nester manufactured three goals.

Nicholas Cornella recorded 16 saves for the second-consecutive game to earn his second victory of the season. Cornella allowed just four goals in 48:13 of action in the net and picked up 11 ground balls.

After Swope and Nester each scored in the final minutes of the first, Trill and Dobel scored a pair of goals in an 18-second span to begin the second, giving the Pacers a 6-0 lead.
