Scranton, PA – Marywood University women's lacrosse recorded a shutout for the first time in program history as the Pacers earned a clean sheet over Cedar Crest College 16-0 during their home opener Saturday. The Pacers held the Falcons to eight shots and record their second straight win after dropping their first five games.

Sarah Caughy recorded her 100th career goal in a seven-point effort to lead the Pacers (2-5 overall, 2-0 CSAC). Caughy scored four goals and three assists. She also tied for a team-best five ground balls.

Five other Pacers finished with two goals apiece. Stacy Griffing, Danielle McCabe, Carly Kliment, Dana Grossjung and Kimberly Commisso each scored two goals. Grossjung and Commisso added an assist to finish with three-point efforts.

McCabe tied Caughy with five ground balls.  Commisso caused four turnovers.
Leigha Dolcemascolo produced the program's first career shutout with four saves, notching her second victory of the year.

Marywood outshot Cedar Crest 31-8. The Pacers also held a 26-14 ground ball advantage and won 13 of 18 draw controls. Marywood converted 9-of-11 clear attempts on the day.

Cedar Crest's Emily Rodenberger forced six Pacer turnovers and led the team with four ground balls. Kim Katsigianis made 12 saves for the Falcons (0-6 overall, 0-1 CSAC).

Caughy started the scoring barrage with two goals in a 15-second span. After the Falcons controlled the game to start, Caughy put the Pacers ahead at 27:37. She added another unassisted goal at 27:22 to provide Marywood early momentum.

With 16:08 remaining in the first period, Caughy reached the 100-goal plateau to put the Pacers on top 7-0. She becomes the fifth Pacer to reach triple digits, joining teammate Commisso. She added her 101st 1:36 into the second half.

The Pacers and Falcons held a
 Play 4 Seton Hill benefit in the wake of the fatal bus accident that involved the Seton Hill University women's lacrosse team and claimed of the life of head coach Kristie Quigley and her unborn child last Saturday. The team collected donations to benefit a scholarship fund set up for Quigley's young son, Gavin.
 
Marywood is off for 12 days and will return to Pacers Field to face Neumann University on April 4 at 7:00 p.m.
