Hackettstown, NJ - Marywood University suffered the consequences of being stuck inside for over two weeks as the Pacers suffered a pair of defeats to CSAC rival Centenary College Thursday afternoon in softball action.  The Cyclones dominated the Pacers 8-0 in a six-inning opening game before edging Marywood 3-2 in the nightcap.  Marywood fell to 4-8, 2-2 CSAC with the loss while Centenary improved to 5-5, 4-4 CSAC.

In the opener, Centenary used two big innings to get the win.  Tied 0-0 heading into the bottom of the third, the Cyclones plated four runs and then added three more the next inning to build a 7-0 lead.  The hosts would end the game early with a run in the sixth to make it 8-0.

Meghin Palmer went 2-for-3 for Marywood in the opener while Mariah Runco and Kellsie Davis each had a hit.  The Cyclones out-hit Marywood 14-4 and scored seven earned runs on Alexandra Stine, who took the loss.

Stine also took the loss in the nightcap but allowed just three runs on six hits over six innings of work in the second game.  Marywood tied the game 1-1 in the third but Centenary built a 3-1 lead with runs in the third and fifth.  Marywood got one back in the sixth but it was not enough.  Palmer and Runco each had two hits in game two for Marywood.

The Pacers return to the diamond Monday when they take on Keystone College in LaPlume at 1:00 p.m.
