La Plume, PA – Keystone College softball scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over Marywood University in nightcap of a doubleheader Wednesday. The Pacers were two outs away from a sweep after handily taking the first game 12-3 in a Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup.  Meghin Palmer tied the Marywood University record for career hits with her 218th in the second game.
The Pacers (5-9, 3-3 CSAC) led by two runs heading into seventh inning in game two before the Giants' Lisa Ostrander pitted a game-ending double over the head of the left fielder that capped the Keystone victory. Ostrander was one of three Giants (7-9, 2-3 CSAC) to produce a two-bagger in the seventh. Samantha Hartman doubled to left-center to manufacture the inning's first run, and Kaitlyn Sawicki tied the game with a hit down the left line.
Marywood's Samantha Rayhon gathered three hits in the Pacer loss. Alexandra Stine allowed four earned runs and nine hits on the mound.
Ostrander's gamewinner was one of three hits in the game. Katie Marro and Sawicki each produced two hits. Hartman had two RBI, and Sara Schraden gave up eight hits in a winning effort.
In the first game, Stine took a no-hit bid into the fourth inning. She finished with eight strikeouts in seven innings, and yielded just three hits to earn the victory.
Marywood's Mariah Runco hit a home run in the fourth inning that put the game out of reach. Meghin Palmer and Chelsea Epler both tallied three hits. Stine helped her cause with two runs and three RBI.
Sawicki had a run and an RBI for the Giants in game one.
Palmer led off the first game with a single and used aggressive baserunning to get Marywood on the scoreboard for the first time. Palmer slid under the catcher's glove on a wild pitch to take a 1-0 lead.
After the Pacers took advantage of sloppy Keystone fielding in the second with three runs, Stine doubled down the left line to bring home two runs and scored later on an Epler single to center to go on top 7-0 in the third.
In the second game, Marywood's bats fell silent following a big first inning that totaled three runs. Stephanie Bagniewski and Dana Prudente hit back-to-back RBI-producing singles up the middle of the field that gave the Pacers' a three-run edge in the early going.
Keystone responded with a run in the third after a lead-off Marro double allowed her to score on a fielder's choice. Marywood responded back with a run of its own in the fourth when Palmer hustled her way to a bunt single that scored Stephanie Poveromo to advance the Marywood lead to 4-1.
Keystone battled back in the bottom half when Osterander led off with a double and stole her way to third base, setting the stage for a Schraden RBI single. Stine handcuffed the Giants with the bases loaded when she forced Hartman to pop out to shortstop.
The Pacers return home Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader against Immaculata University.
