Cavaliers Oust Marywood in Men's Lacrosse

Radnor, PA – Eighth-ranked Cabrini College men's lacrosse defeated Marywood University 22-2 Saturday in Colonial States Athletic Conference action. Marywood falls to 3-9 overall with a 2-2 record in the CSAC, while Cabrini advances to 9-3, 3-0 in conference play.

Marywood goalkeeper Nicholas Cornella made 16 saves. Brian White filled in to make three stops in 18:06.

Greg Nester and Sam Trill produced each of the Pacers' two goals. Riley Dobel contributed with an assist.

The Cavaliers outshot the Pacers 60-14 and owned a 40-18 advantage in ground balls. Marywood was successful on 66 percent (14-of-21) clearing opportunities, while Cabrini was successful on 19-of-20 attempts. The Pacers held the Cavaliers to a 1-6 performance in extra-man opportunities. Marywood turned the ball over 23 times compared to Cabrini's 10 turnovers.

Dobel led the Pacers with three ground balls. Jarrod Bulger, Joe O'Connell and Brian White each collected two ground balls.  

Corey Elmer paced the Cavaliers with seven points on three goals and four assists. Mike Leyden was the Cavaliers leading scorer with five goals. Bobby Thorp garnered six points. Chris Treat allowed two goals in 52:36 of work in goal.

Marywood looks to get back to the win column at home on Wednesday against Susquehanna University at 4:00 pm.
