Kington, PA - Marywood University swept host Wilkes University in a non-conference softball doubleheader to close out their regular season Sunday.  Marywood won a tight opener 9-8 before shutting out the Colonels 4-0 in the nightcap.  The Pacers enter this coming week's CSAC post-season as the #5 seed and will travel to Gwynedd-Mercy College Wednesday for the preliminary round.

Meghin Palmer and Diana Butash picked up three hits apiece in the opener as Marywood (18-14) held on for a 9-8 win.  Branna Gifford, Chelsea Epler and Alexandra Stine all doubled while Stine picked up the win, her 10th of the season, on the mound.  Stine allowed just two earned runs and ten hits while striking out four in the win.

In the nightcap, Dana Prudente led Marywood's offense with a 2-for-3 effort and two RBI.  Marywood grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first, went up 3-0 in the third and added an insurance run in the fourth.  Katherine King pitched a complete game, fanning three and allowing just four hits in the shutout.

Marywood will take on the Griffins, seeded #4, Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in a single elimination game.  The winner will advance to the CSAC Championshp round, double-elimination format, beginning Friday at top-seed Neumann.
