Men's Tennis Pushes Win Streak Past Four Years

Scranton, PA – Marywood University men's tennis shut out Cabrini College 9-0 to extend its Colonial States Athletic Conference regular season winning streak to 27 matches, dating back just over four years to April 5, 2009. The Cavaliers failed to score more than three points in any match, and the Pacers yielded just three total games in doubles play.

Marywood's Todd Doran ousted Ian Monson 6-0, 6-1 in the top flight. Daniel Pfafman defeated Ryan Juhring 6-1, 6-0 in the #3 singles.

Ethan Jones won the tightest match of the day, topping Abui Santos 6-3, 6-3 in the #4 court. Frank Nicolosi swept Colin Kilroy 6-0, 6-0 in the #6 singles.

Daniel Pfafman (6-1, 6-0) and Ryan Mulqueen (6-2, 6-1) also picked up wins at the second and fifth singles, respectively.

Marywood's three doubles pairs went a combined 24-3 against the Cavaliers. Doran and Mark Van Nort defeated Monson and Santos 8-1 in the #1 doubles. Wyatt Nolan and Evan Bolus took the #2 doubles at 8-2. Mulqueen and Pfafman received a shutout in the #3 doubles 8-0.

The men's tennis team returns home Sunday to face defending Freedom Conference champion Wilkes at 1:00 pm.
