Scranton, PA – Meghin Palmer became Marywood University's all-time hits leader and the Pacers gave Immaculata University its first two Colonial States Athletics Conferences losses of the season Saturday. The Pacers narrowly edged the Mighty Macs 4-3 in the first game of the twinbill followed by a 3-2 victory in the second.  Palmer's lone single in the opener, the 219th base hit of her career, set a new all-time mark for the Pacers, surpassing the 218 career hit record set by Erika Cook from 2006-2009.

Marywood (7-9, 5-3 CSAC) scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to overcome the Mighty Macs' two-run lead. Chelsea Eppler drove home the go-ahead run for the Pacers, who benefited from a pair of Immaculata (12-11, 9-2 CSAC) errors in the inning.

Chelsea Zimmerman produced two hits for the Pacers in the first game. Diana Butash scored two runs in the victory.

Alexandra Stine notched both victories for Marywood, striking out 10 total batters over the two games. In the nightcap, Stine allowed no earned runs and allowed two hits over seven innings.

The Pacers won game two despite just four hits. Bryanna Gifford tallied two runs and reached base three times.

Marywood broke open a 2-2 stalemate in the bottom of the fifth when Butash singled to center field to bring home Gifford to take a 3-2 advantage. Stine did not allow a runner in the final three innings and held the Mighty Macs hitless for the final five frames.

The Pacers take on Notre Dame (Md.) Sunday at 1:00 pm at Pacers Field.
