Arcadia Overpowers Marywood in Non-Conference Field Hockey

Glenside, PA - Host Arcadia University scored five first half goals, including two apiece from Erin Misner and Molly Goldstein, as the Scarlet Knights cruised to a 7-0 win over Marywood University Tuesday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action.  Natalie Winters made 16 saves in the loss as Marywood fell to 0-4 on the year. Arcadia moved to 3-1 with the win.

Arcadia out-shot the Pacers 38-5 on the day, placing 25 of those shots on frame and forcing Winters to make 16 stops.  Danielle Higgins and Kirsten Webb each picked up a defensive save for the Pacers.

Arcadia's Debbie Wolfe started the socring in the 9th minute of play off a feed from Morgan Paese. Less than four minutes later Molly Goldstein made it 2-0 and then exactly a minute later Goldstein fed Misner to make it 3-0.  In the 16th minute, Misner scored again to make it 4-0, and Arcadia would take a 5-0 lead into the break when Goldstein scored in the 25th minute.

Rachel Longenecker and Taylor Dalisera each added second half tallies for the Scarlet Knights.  Goldstein finished the game with two goals and two helpers.

Marywood returns to action Saturday with a trip to Center Valley to take on DeSales University at 2:30 pm.
