Scranton, PA - Marywood University men's soccer scored two second half goals to come from behind from a halftime deficit to defeat Alfred University 2-1 at Pacers Turf Field in Scranton. With the victory, the Pacers (2-0-2) are unbeaten through the first four games of the season for the first time in program history.

Kris Kassel connected on a game-winning goal in the 73rd minute to supply the Pacers with their first lead of the game. Kassel maintained possession on a ball that bounced between Marywood and Alfred defenders in the middle of the circle. He lifted the ball to the far right side, beyond the goalkeeper's reach, to give Marywood a 2-1 lead.

Marywood found itself in trouble after a dormant 45 minutes of play. Alfred outhustled the Pacers throughout the first half but only managed six shots. The Saxons (2-4) produced the game's first goal in the 32nd minute when Zach Kranefeld placed a beautifully delivered cross pass from Omar Mohamed.

Daniel Hull evened the score in the 57th minute. Daniel Lopez stationed a set piece, just beyond the right-corner of the box to the left side. Hull, with help from Zachary Oster, headed the ball into the net to make it a 1-1 game.

After two ties to start the year, Justin Sunseri secured his first victory of the season with three saves. Jacob Bird took the loss for the Saxons with six stops.

Marywood held a 16-14 advantage in shots, while maintaining an 8-4 lead in shots on goal. The Pacers held a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.

Marywood looks to extend its undefeated streak on Thursday at DeSales. The Pacers beat Alfred for the sixth consecutive season.
