Center Valley, PA - Marywood University dropped its first game of the season after allowing two early first half goals in a 2-1 loss Thursday at DeSales University. The Pacers had previously gone through the first four games of their season without a loss for the first time in program history.

Trailing by two goals, Zachary Oster cut the Pacers (2-1-2) deficit in half in the 56th minute. Daniel Lopez fed a corner kick to a charging Oster, who barreled it into the net for his first goal of the season. The corner kick opportunity was set up by a hard-struck shot by Kris Kassel that was thwarted in air by DeSales goalkeeper Colin Sulpizo.

DeSales (3-4) went on the board in the 10th minute when James Breuning pushed in a ball off a Steve Castellani corner feed.

Castellani lasered a ball into the net for the Bulldogs' second goal in the 20th minute. Castellani hit inside the left post from 30 yards out on an open-field kick.

Marywood limited the Bulldogs to just three shots on goal. DeSales outshot the Pacers 15-13, and both teams finished with seven corner kicks.

The Pacers began both periods by controlling the ball possession, even despite the Bulldogs' two early first half goals. The Bulldogs outshot Marywood 6-1 following Oster's goal.

The Pacers host SUNY Cortland Saturday at 7:00 pm.
