Scranton, PA - Visiting King's College scored three goals in the opening 28 minutes of play and that was all they needed as the Monarchs improved to 4-3 on the year with a 3-1 win over host Marywood University (0-8) Tuesday afternoon in Scranton.  Abby McManus and Alyssa Monaghan each had a goal and an assist in the win for King's while Marywood's Leanne McManus, Abby's cousin, scored the Pacers' goal.

Abby McManus finished a cross on the goal line from Monaghan just 4:49 into the game to put the visitors up 1-0.  Just under ten minutes later, the Monarchs doubled their lead when Kim Howanitz scored on a penalty corner after McManus put the ball into play.  King's would close their scoring on the day in the 28th minute of play when Monaghan scored unassisted to make it 3-0.

With just :24 left in the first half, the Pacers got on the board when Leanne McManus scored on a helper from Amelia Waibel

King's held a 22-11 advantage in shots for the game and a 13-4 advantage in penalty corners.  The Monarchs placed 16 shots on goal, forcing Marywood's Natalie Winters to make 11 saves.  Maria Ryle and Danielle Higgins each picked up one defensive save for the Pacers.

Marwyood will look to get on the winning side of things next Tuesday when they host Wells College at 7:00 pm in one of the Pacers' two non-conference games remaining.
