Wilkes-Barre Twp., PA -
Marywood University men's soccer fell to King's 4-2 Saturday despite a two-goal effort from Daniel Hull. The Pacers managed to get within one goal of the Monarchs in the final 22 before King's pulled away in the waning minutes. Marywood drops to 3-2-2 on the season, while King's advances its record to 4-2-2.

The Monarchs' Brian Fenster posted a hat trick, including an insurance goal in the 89th minute to seal the victory. Fenster scored in the second minute on a one-touch finish from a Daniel Hernandez cross to supply King's with an early lead in its Homecoming game.

After King's Cameron Rhodes scored on a header within a minute of the second half, Daniel Hull cut the lead in half at the 55th minute. He took a pass from his brother Matthew Hull and connected on a long shot that found the inside post to make it a 2-1 Pacer deficit.

Fenster once again gave King's a boost with a goal in front of the net at the 61st minute from Chris Nygren. Seven minutes later, Daniel Hull went high off a Justin Liu through pass to push the Pacers to within one goal with 23 minutes remaining.

Marywood found itself at arm's length of tying the game off several corner kicks before Fenster connected on a one-touch shot off a cross with 79 seconds remaining in the game to advance the King's lead to 4-2.

The Pacers outshot the Monarchs 10-8. King's doubled the Pacers 6-3 in corner kick opportunities. Justin Sunseri made two saves in his first loss of the season.

Marywood finishes its nonconference season and focuses its efforts on its Colonial States Athletic Conference schedule that begins Wednesday, Oct. 2 at Centenary College. The conference opener will be played at nearby Hackettstown High School at 8:00 pm.
