Scranton, PA - Host Marywood University got its 2013 CSAC season off to a strong start with a 9-0 blanking of Notre Dame of Maryland University Saturday afternoon in Scranton. Carly Leitzel, Kristen Lambert, Rebecca Lukasak and Avery McCall all won their singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
Marywood (1-0, 1-0 CSAC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles and never looked back. Leitzel teammed with Melissa Hudock at #1 doubles for an 8-2 win and at #2 doubles Lambert and Megan Nastelli won by an identical score. At #3 singles, Lukasak and McCall won 8-1.
Leitzel (#1 singles), Lambert (#4), Lukasak (#5) and McCall (#6) all won 6-0, 6-0. Hudock won 6-4, 6-2 at #2 singles while Nastelli was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at #3 singles.
Marywood returns to the court next Friday when it hosts Wilkes University in non-conference action at 4:00 pm.
