Marywood Closes Regular Season with Sweep of Goucher

Scranton, PA - Marywood University's Chris Brown won three events to help the Pacers close their dual meet schedule with a record breaking 9-3 record as the Pacers downed visiting Goucher College 153-96 in men's swimming action Saturday afternoon. The win was moves Marywood to 5-1 in Landmark action just weeks before the Conference Championships.  The women also beat the Gophers, improving to 6-8 (3-4 Landmark) with a 154-84 win. 

Brown won three events in all, falling just .21 seconds shy of his own school record in the 200 breast with a time of 2:22.25.  He was part of the Pacers' winning 400 medley relay team (3:45.82) and won the 100 breast in 1:04.46. 

In other men's action, Jason Beabout won the 1000 free (10:15.11) and the 500 free (5:02.01), Brian Shanahan won the 100 backstroke (58.58) and Anthony Pisano won the 100 free (50.01).  The Pacers also got wins from Zachary Haney in the 200 backstroke (2:02.98) and 200 IM (2:04.88) and from their 200 free relay team of Daniel Adams, Bryon Scholl, Haney and Pisano. 

In the women's victory, Katie Paterson won the 100 free (11:19.82) and the 100 butterfly (1:04.80) while Valerie Barlow won the 200 free in 2:10.49.  Kayleigh Velott was victorious int eh 100 backstroke in 1:08.67 while Katherine Ciszek won the 200 butterfly in 2:41.68.  Catherine Anlas won the 50 free and 200 backstroke while and Kim Petersen won the 100 free and 200 breaststroke. 

Marywood University is off until the Pacers host the 2013-14 Landmark Conference Championships February 7-10.
