Wilkes-Barre, PA – After three consecutive losses, Marywood University women's basketball returned to the win column with a 77-67 victory Monday over King's College. The Pacers came out strong, shooting 57.1 percent from the field in the first half to lead by 22 points at the break.

The visiting Pacers (8-3) wasted no time showcasing their fast-paced offense against the Monarchs. Marywood never looked back from a 4-4 tie 73 seconds into the game. Danielle Terranella scored the Pacers' first six points. Daniella Castellanos came off the bench to earn a steal and an assist on her first two possessions, and Brittany Mang's three-point play supplied Marywood with a 15-7 lead at the 15:46 mark.

Five Pacers enjoyed double-digit scoring outings. Mang was the top scorer for Marywood with 15 points, three steals and five assists. Terranella contributed 14 points, four assists, six rebounds and a team-high four steals. Kimmy Green posted a season-high 12 points. Nora Joyce and Morgann Haduck each added 11 points.

Carly Leitzel was the team's leading rebounder with eight.

The Monarchs (4-8) cut the lead to just one, 18-17, at 13:22. Maddie Lavery hit two consecutive 15-foot jumpers from along the base line to ignite Marywood's offense once again.

Marywood finished the first half on a 30-4 run over the final six minutes of the first half. Green converted a backyard pick-pocket play to make it 42-24 with three minutes to go. Haduck corralled a rebound and hit a running jumper from behind the baseline to go into halftime ahead by a 50-28 score.

The Pacers led by as many as 27 in the second half, after a Haduck 3-pointer, before the Monarchs came storming back. King's cut the lead to nine points at 76-67 off a Jennifer Fabian layup. But the Pacers kept King's scoreless for the final 3:08 to secure the victory.

Two double-doubles paced the Monarchs. Marissa Manning led with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Jennifer Fabian scored 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Marywood shot 46.3 percent from the field and 42.9 percent (6-of-14) from beyond the arc. King's finished with a 35.6 field goal percentage after dipping below 30 percent for the first half. The Monarchs struggled all night from long range, hitting 5-of-28 tres for 17.9 percent.

After missing the past three Marywood losses, Ashley Murray returned to the lineup. The Pacers are undefeated with the junior guard in the lineup. She failed to reach double figures for the first time this year.

Marywood returns home to face Cedar Crest College Wednesday at 7:00 pm. The Pacers remain at home over the weekend to take on Neumann University Saturday at 1:00 pm.
