Immaculata, PA - Kendall Harris and Shane Kelllaher scored 15 points apiece but it was not enough as visiting Marywood University fell to Immaculata University 70-57 Wednesday evening in CSAC men's basketball action.  The Pacers had a short two-game win streak snapped and fall to 5-6 (1-3 CSAC) while the Mighty Macs improved to 4-7 (2-2 CSAC) with the win.

In a back and forth first half, the hosts took a five point lead (31-26) into the break with both teams hitting above 40% from the field.  Strong second half shooting from the Mighty Macs proved to be the difference, as they connected on 68.4% of their shots from the floor while limiting the Pacers to 38.5% shooting. Harris and Kellaher each had 15 points while Ryan Corrigan added 11.  Immaculata was led by two 16-point scorers in Rodney Duncan and Roy Ferrell Jr.  Two other Mighty Macs reached double figures as well.

Trailing by one at 24-23 with 6:11 remaining, Immaculata closed the half on an 8-2 run to take a 31-26 lead to the locker room as they held the Pacers to just two points.  Ferrell Jr. knocked down a three, one of four on the night, before a Jose Ortiz lay-in gave IU a four-point advantage.  After the Pacers got a bucket, Duncan was fouled in the act of shooting a three and knocked down all three free throws to keep him a perfect 18-for-18 from the line for the season and give IU the five point lead heading to the locker room.

Immaculata started the second half just as they finished it with a 9-4 spurt that got the lead to double digits at 40-30 as Mamadou Diakite fueled the run with five of the points.  However, Marywood did not go quietly. The Pacers returned with an 11-2 run that trimmed the lead all the way to one at 42-41 with just 10:34 remaining in the game.

Leading scorers Ferrell Jr. and Duncan would not allow the Pacers to take the lead as they knocked down back-to-back three-pointers to push the lead back to seven points.  Marywood would get the lead as low as four, but a late push by Immaculata got the advantage to double digits at 63-52 on Diakite's second successful traditional three-point play of the half with 2:53 to go in the game.

Marywood returns to action Monday when they host Baptist Bible College at 8:00 pm in the Insalaco Arena.
