Box Score Box ScoreScranton, PA - Playing without two of its regular starters, Marywood University made a pivotal leap in the Colonial States Athletic Conference women's volleyball standings with a 3-1 victory over Immaculata University Saturday at the Insalaco Arena. The Pacers (8-6, 5-1 CSAC) won by scores of 25-8, 25-23, 13-25, 25-22.
Kelly Chadwick manufactured 29 assists and 15 digs to carry the Pacers to a crucial victory.
Amy Kester continued her torrid offensive and defensive run with four blocks, 14 kills and 13 digs.
Defensively, the Pacers were carried by
Amanda Khozouri's 11 digs and
Shayna Finn's 15 digs.
Mikayla Bristol provided a well-needed spark on offense with 11 kills.
Marywood jolted from the start, capping the Mighty Macs 25-8 in the first set with only two attack errors. Immaculata found its legs, forcing a 25-23 Marywood win in set No. 2 and trouncing the Pacers 13-25 in the third stanza. The Pacers recovered with 12 kills in the deciding fourth set for a 25-22 victory.
Immaculata (12-6, 2-2 CSAC) had 20-dig performances by Molly Truitt and Emily Swank. Jamie Rombach led the Mighty Macs with a dozen kills.
Marywood takes sole possession of third place in the CSAC standings behind undefeated Neumann and Cabrini.
The Pacers host Baptist Bible College Tuesday at 7:00 pm in a game that was rescheduled from Wednesday.
