Scranton, PA - For the second consecutive game, Marywood University senior Kris Kassel provided late heroics with a game-winning goal in a key Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer matchup. Kassel scored the lone goal in a 1-0 overtime victory over Centenary College in a rematch of last season's CSAC championship game. Just four days ago, Kassel connected on a game winner with 52 seconds remaining to down Cabrini College.

Kassel scored the game winner with just 18 seconds left in the first overtime period. He corralled and settled a ball at the far left baseline followed a saved Dylan McMahon shot. From 25 yards out, Kassel sailed the ball directly over both the goalkeeper and top post. The ball curled left into the top right post in dramatic fashion in what most assuredly goes down as one of the more loftiest goals in Pacer history.

Kassel's goal came in amidst a waterlogged back-and-forth game. A steady rain remained consistent for the first 90 minutes and picked up to torrential conditions for the first five minutes of the overtime period, making both Marywood keeper Justin Sunseri and Centenary goalie Jesse Goleman's saves more impressive.

Sunseri picked up his fifth clean sheet of the season with five saves. Goleman doubled him up with 10 saves in a losing effort.

The Pacers up their record to 5-4-3 overall with a 3-2 conference mark. They hold the tiebreaker over Centenary (8-4-1, 3-2 CSAC) for fourth place.

Marywood outshot the Cyclones 27-13, owned an 11-5 edge in shots on target, and had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Pacers travel to Immaculata University Saturday at 3:00 pm.
