Gwynedd Valley, PA – Marywood University secured a spot in the Colonial States Athletic Conference volleyball playoffs with a 3-0 victory over Gwynedd Mercy University. The Pacers (10-7, 7-2 CSAC) won by scores of 25-15, 25-11, 25-20. Gwynedd Mercy falls to 6-22 overall and 1-8 in conference play.

Ashley Zalewski posted the second-highest attack percentage in program history (since the 25-point change). Zalewski had 13 kills on 23 attempts for a .565 attack percentage. She ties her .565 mark set last year against Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham. Zalewski also provided two solo blocks.

For the second time in eight days, Kelly Chadwick tabbed 34 assists – the third-most in school history for a three-set match.

Mikayla Bristol manufactured a team-high 16.5 points. She tallied 10 kills, six service aces and 12 digs.
Shayna Finn led the Pacers defensively with 19 digs. Amy Kester garnered 15 digs in addition to seven kills.
Kathleen Reilly scored six kills on 13 attempts.

Marywood would lead from start to finish in taking the first two sets. The third featured a set of runs, as the Griffins looked to start a rally in the match. GM tabbed five-straight points early on to take an 8-7 edge. The Pacers responded with six in a row of their own before the Griffins hit four-straight to trail 13-12. As you could guess, Marywood then netted four points in a row on kills from Zalewski and Amy Kester. Gwynedd would give it one last push, getting four in a row to pull within 22-20, but three-straight kills from the Pacers would help cement the final score.

Marywood owned the Griffins with a 41-18 advantage in kills. Gwynedd Mercy had a zero attack percentage with 18 kills and 18 errors.

Gwynedd Mercy's Laura Kirk and Lauren Tressel combined for 30 digs.

Marywood travels to DeSales University to face SUNY Canton, Susquehanna and the Bulldogs on Friday and Saturday.
