Scranton, PA - Marywood University's return to the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs became foggier Saturday in a 1-0 loss to Centenary College. With the loss, the Pacers (5-10-1, 3-3-1 CSAC) sit in a three-way tie with Rosemont College and Neumann University (5-4-1) with 16 points. The Cyclones (8-7-1, 7-2 CSAC) take full possession of third place. 

Centenary scored the lone goal thanks to a fortuitous bounce on a ball played from the midfield. Samantha Sysak took control of the ball that eluded defenders and redirected in the Cyclones' favor. Sysak raced for a breakaway chance, beating keeper Emily Osborne to the far side in the 53rd minute. 

Osborne finished with eight saves. Her counterpart Megan Williams made five saves. 

Marywood's best chances came immediately following the Centenary goal, putting up three shots on target in the next eight minutes. Krista Capelli provided the best scoring chance but was quickly put aside by Williams keeping. Centenary kept Marywood to without a shot on goal for the final 29 minutes. 

Both teams battled difficult winds that forced play to the near side of the field. 

Marywood outshot Centenary 17-12, despite having a 9-5 disadvantage in shots on goal. Centenary edged the Pacers in corner kicks 4-3. 

The Pacers completed their regular season home schedule. They'll face Baptist Bible College Tuesday for a chance to clinch a playoff spot.
