Philadelphia, PA - The Marywood University women's tennis team fell to Gwynedd Mercy University 5-3 in the Colonial States Athletic Confence women's tennis championship Saturday at the Legacy Tennis Center in Philadelphia. The Pacers fall to 11-2 on the season, and Gwynedd Mercy (12-4) wins its second straight championship.

Marywood reached the conference championship for the 16 time in program history. The Pacers failed to improve upon their 10 conference championships. 

Devon Underwood and Natalie Burke won the Pacers' only doubles match, earning a 9-7 victory over Jenna Caffarello and Kristen Kriebel in the third slot. Avery McCall and Rebecca Lukasak fell at No. 2 doubles by an 8-5 score, and Megan Nastelli and Kristen Lambert were defeated 8-3 in the top slot. 

Underwood was the first singles player to complete, dispensing Joslyn Jackson 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. McCall was the only other Pacer to triumph, outlasting a hard-fought No. 3 singles over Gabrielle Muller by a 6-4, 7-5 score. 

After falling 6-1 in the first No. 6 singles set, Burke recovered to take the second by a 6-4 score. Her third set went unfinished after the Griffins' grabbed their fifth point of the afternoon. 

Nastelli, the CSAC Player of the Year, was defeated 6-2, 6-2 in the first singles for the game-winning point. Goff downed Lambert 6-2, 6-0 in the second. Kriebel notched a win over Lukasak 6-2, 6-2.
