Scranton, PA - Keystone College beat Marywood University 4-3 in CSAC field hockey action Wednesday afternoon to force a three way tie for the fourth and final playoff spot.  Unfortunately for both the Giants and Pacers, Immaculata University will get that spot.  All three teams finished league play with a 3-4 mark, but the Mighty Macs allowed the fewest goals in conference games, therefore advancing into the post-season.

Marywood scored just 4:21 into the contest as Leanne McManus faked a shot twice in front of the net before putting one past Emily Hawkins for the game's first goal.  Keystone, however, responded with three goals in a five minute span to take a 3-1 lead.

Breanna Paulson scored back-to-back goals in the seventh and ninth minutes and Bianca Dolac scored in the 14th minute.

Gabriella Bower's goal in the 18th minute got the Pacers back to within one, and the score would remain 3-2 until Tori Jo Kakusian scored off an assist from Julie Kowalski on a penalty corner to tie the game at 3-3.

With 12:08 to play, Rebecca Dempster took a shot from inside the arc that Huey saved but Dolac got the game-winner from the Giants when she put the rebound.

Marywood out-shot the Giants 23-8 and had a 16-3 advantage in penalty corners.  Hawkins made nine saves while two defenders picked up defensive saves for Keystone.  Huey made three stops for the Pacers.

Marywood, Keystone and Immaculata had to go to the third tiebreaking criteria to determine the final playoff spot, which is goals against in conference play (maximum three).  Immaculata allowed 13, while Marywood, who allowed 12 entering the match, allowed 16.  Keystone allowed 16 entering and 19 overall.  Immaculata therefore advances to the CSAC playoffs.

Marywood concludes their season with a 8-9 overall mark.  The eight wins under first year Head Coach Kacy Manning are the most for the Pacers since the 2009 season when they also finished with a 8-9 record.
