Pacers Secure Third Seed in CSAC Volleyball Playoffs

Langhorne, PA - The Marywood University women's volleyball team secured the No. 3 seed in the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs with a four-set victory over fourth place Cairn University Wednesday on the road. The Pacers conclude their regular season and will wait for the rest of the conference to finish their schedules to decide their first round opponent.

As of Wednesday's results, Marywood would face Notre Dame of Maryland University. Notre Dame, Baptist Bible, Immaculata and Cairn are all in contention for the final three playoff spots.

Marywood defeated the Highlanders by scores of 25-14, 24-26, 25-22, 25-20.

Ashley Zalewski recorded 20 kills on 35 attempts, tying herself for the third-most kills in a four-set match. Kelly Chadwick contributed 46 of the team's 47 assists. She also had 12 digs and five service aces. Amy Kester hit a career-high mark with 27 digs.

Mikayla Bristol continued her recent success with eight kills and nine digs. Fresh off an ECAC South Region Rookie of the Week award, Shayna Finn notched 15 digs. Amanda Khozouri had a dozen digs.

Brigid Shehan paced the Highlanders with 26 kills. Whitney Seidel grabbed a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs. Sami Delfino made 36 assists.

The Pacers will host the first round of CSAC playoffs against an opponent to be determined on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
