Cabrini's Fist Half Outburst Downs Pacers

Radnor, PA - Host Cabrini College exploded for six first half goals and the Cavaliers went on for a 8-2 win over visiting Marywood University Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference field hockey action.  Cabrini improved to 6-3 (2-0 CSAC) with the win while Marywood, who got both their goals from Leanne McManus, fall to 5-6 (1-2 CSAC).

The hosts started the scoring quickly as Kerry Anne Farrell scored her first of back-to-back goals just 16 seconds into the game.  1:21 later, Farrell made it 2-0 with another goal.  Taylor Mack then scored three consecutive goals for the Cavaliers to put them up 5-0 by the 19th minute.

Farrell then completed her hat trick with a goal in the 22nd minute before McManus got the Pacers on the board in the 24th minute of play off a helper from Gabriella Bower.  McManus' second goal would come in the 58th minute off a assist from Amelia Waibel.

Despite the lopsided score, Marywood had plenty of chances of their own. The Pacers were only outshot 16-15, and both teams had 10 penalty corners.

Marywood will return to action next Saturday when they host Gwynedd Mercy University at 4:00 pm.
