Aston, PA - A pair of Christian Cortese goals in a nine-minute span was enough for Neumann University to down Marywood University 3-1 Tuesday in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer. The Pacers drop their second consecutive conference match after taking the previous 13 games dating back to October 2012.

Marywood's lone goal came in the 69th minute. Daniel Hull kicked a shot that was deflected into the net by a Knight defender.

Cortese put the Knights ahead in the 27th minute from an Evan Fahey assist. Cortese again found net in the 35th minute from a Tben Donnie feed.

Marywood was unable to capitalize after cutting the Knight lead in half at 2-1. Zach DiDonato punched the victory for Neumann in the 89th minute with an assist from Jake McDevitt.

The Pacers outshot Neumann 17-15 and tied the Knights with six shots on target. Neumann had a 9-8 edge in corner kicks.

Justin Sunseri made three saves in a losing effort in goal. Neumann's Dan Jones provided five saves.

Marywood returns to action Saturday when it hosts Cabrini College Saturday at 1:00 pm.
