Scranton, PA - Kimberly Vogan scored two goals and Elizabeth Carlson added another as fourth-seeded Marywood University advanced to the CSAC semifinals with a 3-0 win over #5 Rosemont College. The Pacers, who won their first playoff game since the 2009 season, improve to 8-10-1 overall while the Ravens' season comes to a close at 9-7-3.

Just 6:43 into the contest, Vogan took a feed from Alixandria Fiore and beat Rosemont keeper Jenna Kaiser over hear head from 30 yards out in the middle of the field.

Despite dominating the opening half in shots (11-2), Marywood failed to put another ball past Kaiser in the opening half, thanks in part to several offsides calls against the Pacers.

After Rosemont put a close range chance over the top of the goal midway through the second half, Vogan got the insurance goal Marywood was looking for in the 75th minute. Vogan settled a short volley from Danielle Rill and hit a line drive through Kaiser's hands to far post netting from just inside the top right corner of the 18-yard box to make it 2-0.

With the Ravens pressing to cut the Marywood lead in half, a long ball flicked on by Jordan Salgado in the center of the field over a charging Kaiser found the foot of Carlson who beat one defender and put the ball home into an empty net.

Victoria Pezdirtz, while inactive for much of the game, came up with two saves to preserve the Pacers' seventh clean sheet of the season.

Marywood won the CSAC Championship in 2008 and advanced to the finals in 2009 with a semifinal win, but despite being the top seed in 2010, 2011 and 2012, and making the playoffs as the fifth seed in 2013, the Pacers failed to win a post-season game since that 2009 season.

The Pacers advance to take on #1 Cabrini College at 6:30 pm on Wednesday. Cabrini took the regular season meeting between the two teams, 3-0.

In the other semifinal game, #3 Gwynedd Mercy battled to a scoreless tie against #6 Neumann University, but the host Griffins advanced to the semifinals by winning a penalty kick shootout, 3-1.
