Scranton, PA - It took only four points for Marywood University to find its rhythm in the Colonial States Athletic Conference women's volleyball first round playoff game Tuesday. With Kelly Chadwick serving, the third-seeded Pacers exploded for 10 consecutive points in the first set to kickstart a three-set victory over No. 6 Notre Dame of Maryland University.

The Pacers won by scores of 25-9, 25-19, 25-15. Marywood travels to second-seeded Neumann University Thursday at 7:00 pm in the CSAC semifinal. It marks the second consecutive season the Pacers won their first round game in the CSAC tournament.

Fresh off an Honorable Mention All-CSAC selection, Amy Kester made her case for why she is one of the conference's top players. Kester led the Pacers in kills (nine), service aces (three), digs (10), and blocks (three). Her nine kills with just one error in 12 attempts supplied her with an outlandish .667 attack percentage.

Ashley Zalewski, ranked 15th in the nation in attack percentage, boosted her average with eight kills, one error on 19 attempts for a .368 shot percentage. Kelly Chadwick guided the Pacers with 20 assists.

Shayna Finn supplied nine digs, and Mikayla Bristol tallied eight digs. Catherine Anlas was particularly effective in the first set with two blocks.

Notre Dame was led by Marylu Ortiz's eight kills. Jamie Reyes and Cleaya Antes both had eight digs. Reyes supplied 14 helpers.

Marywood led the first set by as many as 17-3. The second set didn't start keenly either for the Gators, falling to a 6-1 deficit. A series of ball-handling and set errors put Notre Dame within two at 19-17. Notre Dame made a series of errors down the stretch, with only one of the Pacers' final six points coming by way of a kill. With Khozouri serving in the third set, Marywood jumped to a 5-0 lead from the gate. The closest Notre Dame came was a three-point disadvantage at 7-4. Five of the final six points went in Marywood's favor.

Marywood fell in three sets to Neumann in its season opener by scores of 25-16, 25-10, 26-24. At that point in the season, it was the Pacers' first match in 13 days.
