Pacers Earn Second Straight Win, Top Cabrini

Scranton, PA - Marywood University's men's swimming team improved to 5-2 on the year and the women moved above .500 at 4-3 as both teams won their second consecutive meets with victories over visiting Cabrini College Sunday afternoon at Marywood's Aquatics Center.  The men were 178-58 winners while the women topped the Cavaliers 150-86.

In the opening event of Sunday's meet, Marywood's women's A and B 200 yard medley relay teams finished first and second, respectively.  The A team of Kayleig Velott, Kim Petersen, Julissa Quezada and Val Barlow won in 2:20.11 while the B team of Jamielynn Little, Hailey Moorehead, Ashley Foltz and Katie Ciszek finished in 2:09.12.  The men also finished first and second, with the Pacers' A squad of Daniel Adams, Zack Haney, Bryon Scholl and Anthony Pisano winning in 1:43.97 over the B team of Brian Shanahan, Paul Kresmer, Chard Howley and Paul Kraycer (1:47.82).

In the 200 free, Virginia Cobb won the women's race in 2:10.82 while Haney won the men's in 1:50.29.  Velott (33.84) and Little (36.07) came in first and second in the women's 50 yard backstroke while Adams (26.69), Kraycer (27.09) and Shanahan (28.17) swept the men's 50 back.

Petersen and Moorehead were 1-2 in the 50 breast while Kremser, Evan Romines and Howley were 2-4 in the men's 50 breast.  Quezada won the women's 100 butterfly in 1:07 while Pisano won the 50 free for the men in 22.73, edging teammate Blake Burlingame (22.78).

The Pacers continued dominance of the meet with wins in the 100 free (Barlow in 1:00.01 for the women and Adams in 49.96 for the men) while Kraycer won the men's 100 backstroke in 59.60.  Pisano would win again in the 100 breast (1:09.06) while Cobb picked up another victory in the 500 free (5:54.20). Haney won the men's 500 free in 5:09.72.

Quezada (29.72) and Scholl (25.37) won the 50 butterfly for the women and men, while Adams won the men's 200 IM in 2:09.56.  Both of Marywood's 200 free relay squads closed the event with wins.

Both squads take on the University of Scranton November 22.
