Scranton, PA - Tied 50-50 with 10 minutes to go, Marywood University's men's basketball team went on a 22-3 run over a six-minute span to pick up their first CSAC win of the year, a 79-64 victory over Baptist Bible College Wednesday evening at Marywood's Insalaco Arena.

Jeremy Ringland led all Marywood scorers with 15 points while Shane Letthand added 14 for the Pacers, who improved to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in league play. BBC remains winless on the year at 0-6, 0-1 CSAC.

Baptist Bible controlled the tempo early and built an early 15-10 lead after seven minutes of play. A quick 6-0 run from the Pacers gave Marywood a 16-15 lead, but BBC was up seven (24-17) with 8:04 to go in the half on the strength of a Nick Peters trey.

Marywood slowly chipped away at the Defenders' lead, and got to within one (28-27) on a layup from Michael Rotell before BBC again took control, going back up by nine only 1:33 later on a pair of Dan Decker freebies.

Down 38-32 at the break, Marywood out-scored BBC 13-6 over the opening 4:37 of the second half to take a one-point, 45-44 lead. Then, with the score tied at 50-50 with ten minutes remaining, Marywood got hot from behind the arc and picked up their defensive pressure, igniting the 22-3 run to put the game away.

Ringland was 6-for-11 from the floor in 23 minutes of action, while Letthand's hot hand late in the game resulted in 14 points.

BBC was led by Dan Decker's game-high 19 points led four Defenders in double digits. Peters added 14 while Abe Valentine and Mitch Raup each had 10.

Marywood returns to the hardwood Saturday when they travel to Cairn University.
