Immaculata, PA - Marywood University was cold from beyond the arc en route to a 57-40 loss to Immaculata University Saturday in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball play. The Pacers made one of 19 shots (5.5 percent) from long distance and connected on only 28.6 percent of their shots for the game. Marywood evens its record to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in conference.

Alexa Gerchman and Nora Joyce both totaled 10 points to lead the Pacers. Danielle Terranella rounded up a team-high 10 rebounds to go with seven points.

Despite the poor shooting display and leading for less than four minutes, the Pacers remained very much in the game until the late stages. Immaculata never led by more than two possessions in the first half, and a Joyce jumper from Gerchman with 1:42 remaining sent the game tied at 21-21 heading into the break.

Marywood never led during the second half, yet evened the score four times. Ashley Murray hit a jumper with 10:56 left to tie the game at 34-34. Immaculata sparked an 11-3 run over the next seven minutes to take the driver's seat. A Joyce layup in the paint brought the Pacers to within two possessions at 45-39. Immacaulata closed out the final 4:30 on a 12-1 run.

Lindsay Cras and Reilly Larkin were Immaculata's leading scorers with 13 points each. Brittany Merkle recorded a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Sara Smith finished with nine points as she was 7-for-9 from the free throw line, and she had six rebounds. Mackie Fitzgerald added seven points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

The Mighty Macs outrebounded Marywood 48-38. The Pacers improved on possession with a season-low 14 turnovers. Marywood received only seven points off its bench, compared to the Mighty Macs' 26 points.

Marywood goes on hiatus for Finals Week and returns to the court Dec. 15 to travel to Susquehanna University.
