Second Half Comeback Ends Pacers' Playoff Hopes

La Plume, PA - After trailling by 10 at the half, host Keystone College rallied to secure a crucial 74-68 win over Marywood University Monday evening in men's basketball action.  The win puts the Giants (11-13, 8-9 CSAC) into the playoffs while eliminating the Pacers from post-season contention.  Shane Kellaher led Marywood with 23 points as the Pacers fell to 9-15 overall and 5-12 in the CSAC.

Trailing 25-17 midway through the fist, Marywood rallied with a 12-4 run to tie the game at 29-29.  The Pacers then extended that streak with a 10-0 spurt take a 39-29 lead into the break.  The Giants quickly leveled the game with 10-0 run to start the second half, highlighted by back-to-back three's from Duncan Lunsford, who finished with a game-high 24. 

After trading leads, Marywood went back up seven (56-49) on a Kellaher three with 7:51 to go and led by nine a minute later. 

Down 62-53 with five minutes to go, the Giants out-scord the Pacers 21-6 the rest of the way.  Keystone went up two (66-64) on another three from Lunsford with 2:07 to go, and neither team would score again until a pair of free throws from Miles Dargan gave the Giants a four-point edge with 37-seconds left. 

Kellaher's team-high 23 led four Pacers in double figures.  Matthew Clark and Shane Letthand each had 14 while Ryan Corrigan added 10. 

Marywood will close out the season Wednesday with an 8:00 pm again against Centenary College.  Prior to the game, Coach Bob Simmons and the Pacers will honor their two seniors - Matt Tintle and Corrigan.
