The women's basketball team raised $1,566 for the Nadine Cenci Marchegiani Foundation in its annual Pink game. Pacers Ride Win Streak to Playoffs over Cyclones Women's Basketball - 2/19/2014 9:28:00 PM Box Score Box Score Scranton, PA – Marywood University clinched a home date in the Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball tournament with a 75-51 victory over Centenary College on Wednesday in the team's regular season finale. The fourth-seeded Pacers will host Gwynedd Mercy University for the third time Monday at the Insalaco Arena. The Pacers raised $1,566 in their Pink Game to benefit the Nadine Cenci Marchegiani Foundation, a charity organization in honor of the mother of current women's basketball manager Alisha Marchegiani and former women's basketball player Amanda Marchegiani. The foundation is committed to helping the needs of individuals with serious illnesses within the local community; the local food banks; the Valley Community Library; and cancer research. Marywood players sold T-shirts, raffle tickets and baked goods to raise the most funds the team has ever produced for the foundation. Brittany Mang scored 17 points and had six steals for the Pacers. Danielle Terranella produced 18 points and seven rebounds. Terranella went 10-for-11 from the free-throw line. Maddie Lavery led the Pacers with eight rebounds. Morgann Haduck hit her first five shots – four from behind the arc – for 15 points. Centenary's Mallory George had her ninth double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Marywood shot 43.6 percent from the field while holding the Cyclones to 29.5 percent. Centenary missed all three of its 3-point attempts. The Pacers continued to be successful from the charity strip, hitting 21-of-25 shots for 84 percent. After falling to Centenary just two weeks ago, Marywood did not miss a stride to claim its fourth straight victory. The Pacers never allowed the Cyclones to lead during the game. The Cyclones kept themselves within striking distance, pushing it to a two possession game on Klarissa Perry's jumper to make it 20-15 at the 7:33 mark in the first half. Marywood went on a 12-point run in less than three minutes to make it a 27-15 with 4:52 left. Haduck hit a pair of back-to-back threes to bring it to 33-17 with 3:02 on the clock. Centenary did not come within 13 after the Haduck shot. Marywood led by as many as 34 when Haduck launched another three to make it 69-35 with just under nine minutes remaining in the game. Terranella scored 16 of her 18 points in the first half. The Pacers and Griffins will meet in the quarterfinal at 7:00 pm on Monday. Print Friendly Version
