Reading, PA – Alvernia University's Jacquelyn Strange scored eight goals to lead the Crusaders to an 18-8 victory over Marywood University in women's lacrosse. The Crusaders used an 11-1 run over an 24-minute span to break open the game.

Kathy DiGiacomo led the Pacers with two goals and an assist. She was successful on both free position attempts. Sarah Caughy and Emily Osborne each produced two goals.

Marywood (1-5) battled back after allowing the first four goals of the game. Kimberly Commisso put the Pacers on the board for the first time at 19:41. Following another Strange goal eight seconds later, the Pacers added a pair of goals to cut the deficit to two. Caughy scored an unassisted tally at 16:53, and Stacy Griffing added her third of the season 28 seconds later to make it a 5-3 contest.

DiGiacomo's score at 2:47 was the Pacers' only bright light as the Crusaders amped their lead to 16-4 on a Julie Sutton free position goal at 22:21 in the second period.

Osborne netted two in a row for the Pacers for the highest goal-producing game of her career. She scored an unassisted goal at 15:07 and scored on a free-position shot just shy of two minutes later to make it a 16-6 Alvernia lead.

Lauren Smith made two saves, while Leigha Dolcemascolo saw her first action of the season.

Dana Grossjung chalked a team-high three ground balls. Natalie Burke and Commisso yielded two draw controls.

Marywood held an 11-10 edge in ground balls. Alvernia (2-3) outshot the Pacers 25-16.

Marywood returns home to host Rosemont College Wednesday in the Colonial States Athletic Conference opener.
