Scranton, PA – Halfway through her second season, sophomore Michelle Thompson's previous career best was one point. She multiplied that number by five Saturday with four goals and an assist in a 15-9 victory over Immaculata University. The Pacers stay atop the Colonial States Athletic Conference with a 3-5 overall, 2-0 conference record. Immaculata falls to 2-4 overall and winless through its first two CSAC contests.

Trailing 4-2 midway through the first half, Marywood scored nine consecutive goals over a 30-minute span to down the Mighty Macs. Kimberly Commisso even the score at 4-4 when she batted a sky-high Kathy DiGiacomo pass into the net at 7:06 in the first. Sarah Caughy tallied the go-ahead goal on a free-position shot 92 seconds later.

Caughy led all scorers with five goals and an assist for six points. She moves ahead of Diana D'Achille for third all-time in career points.

DiGiacomo had a goal and two assists. The senior attack moves into second in school history with 45 career assists.

Natalie Burke netted a season-high two goals and an assist. Dana Grossjung added a goal and an assist. Commisso pulled down eight draw controls.

Defensively, Ashley Cavellier picked up five ground balls and caused three turnovers. Mary Ninivaggi also caused three turnovers for the Pacers.

In goal, Lauren Smith made eight saves for her third win of the season.

Immaculata went on the board first with an unassisted goal from Katie Cook. Caughy spun around the defenders to even it at one apiece for the Pacers' first score of the game 11:26 into regulation.

The Mighty Macs' Allison Jakavick scored from Alyssa Petito 30 seconds later to regain the lead. For the second time this year, Grossjung won a draw control scramble and jetted her way to an unassisted goal that evened it at two goals.

Immaculata quickly regained its composure with two straight goals to extend the lead to 4-2. Jakavick and Kelly Lapp each found the net to double the Pacers' score midway through the first half. DiGiacomo started the barrage of Pacer goals when she relayed a Caughy pass into the netting.

The Mighty Macs finally went back into the scoring column when Jakavick ended the drought with 13:03 left in the contest.

Already two goals under her belt, Thompson played with vigor following a yellow card. She came out of the two-minute penalty to scored two goals in a lapse of 34 seconds.

Thompson found feeds from DiGiacomo and Burke to raise her season total to six goals.

Burke added her career best second goal on a seamless pass from Grossjung to cushion the Pacers lead to 14-7 with 7:26.

Marywood was successful on 15 of 20 clear attempts. The Pacers outshot the Mighty Macs 25-23 and held a 26-19 advantage in ground balls. Marywood won 56 percent (14-of-25) draw controls.
