Farmingdale, N.Y. – After the cold canceled two straight games, the Marywood University women's lacrosse team was finally able to take the field again in a 16-5 loss to Farmingdale State College Wednesday. The Rams went ahead with four straight goals in the first 15 minutes en route to their second win of the season.

Kimberly Commisso supplied two goals, five ground balls and four drawn controls for the Pacers. Natalie Burke netted the first score of her career, finishing with a goal and an assist.

Sarah Caughy and Michelle Thompson each added a goal. Mary Ninivaggi caused four turnovers.

Lauren Smith made her third appearance in net with 14 saves.

Commisso broke the shutout at 14:53 before Nicole Marzocca tabbed three of the next four goals for the Rams to take an 8-1 advantage. Caughy and Commisso each scored before the end of the half, and Farmingdale State led by a 9-3 margin at the break.

In the second half, Farmingdale State scored the first four goals on a pair of Alyssa Handel and Marzocca goals. Burke caught a Stacy Griffing feed to end the second-half drought at 15:07. Farmingdale added three more goals. Burke assisted Michelle Thompson's first goal of the season three second before the final whistle.

The Pacers return home to face No. 17 Oneonta State Saturday at 1:00 pm.
