Three Pacers Score Hat Tricks in Win over Gators

Baltimore, MD – Three Marywood University players totaled hat tricks to lead the Pacers to a 15-4 victory over Notre Dame of Maryland University Saturday in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's lacrosse action in Baltimore. Sarah Caughy, Emily Osborne and Michelle Thompson each netted three goals apiece.

The Pacers (6-8, 5-2 CSAC) jumped out to a 10-1 lead after the first half. Marywood outshot the Gators 30-12 and held a 30-21 advantage in ground balls.

Caughy and Osborne each led the Pacers with three goals and an assist. Osborne's four points establishes a new career high for the second-year player. Thompson posted her second highest total of the season with three goals on six shots.

Kimberly Commisso tallied two goals and an assist. In a chase for the highest ground ball total among active players, Commisso gathered nine ground balls in addition to eight draw controls.

Kelly Kryspin had two points on a goal and an assist. Stacy Griffing counted two goals. Ashley Cavellier vacuumed five ground balls.

Lauren Smith picked up the win by allowing just one goal and making five saves in 31 minutes, 55 seconds in the net. Leigha Dolcemascolo made three saves in relief.

Marywood built up a four-goal lead in just 75 seconds. Notre Dame's Sawyer Butto scored 7:30 in before the Pacers went on a six-goal run to end the first half.

The Pacers have a quick turn around before hosting Mount St. Mary (N.Y.) College Monday at 6:00 pm in a rescheduled contest from February.
