Langhorne, PA - Marywood University split with Cairn University Sunday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference baseball action. The Pacers dominated the Highlanders 17-0 in the opener but fell 10-5 in the nightcap.  Marywood now stands at 8-7 overall and 2-3 in league play while Cairn moves to 4-24, 1-14.

Despite controlling the game early in the opener, the Pacers got 12 of their 17 runs over the final two innings.  Marywood also had a big fourth inning, scoring four times. 

Joseph DiLoreto improved to 2-0 on the year and dropped his ERA to 1.00 after going seven full innings, allowing six hits and striking out seven for the win.  Mike Diskin and Thomas Richards each had three RBI, as did Mark Sherlock, who went 3-for-5.  Stephen Gaylets and Erik Pulkkinen both had triples.

In the nightcap, Cairn scored five runs in the bottom of the first and added two in teh fourth and three in the third to pick up their first CSAC win of the season.  Richards had a double for Marywood and was 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs scored.

Russell Baldino took the loss, falling to 1-2 on the year, after allowing seven runs (six earned) over 3.1 innings of work.  Billy Kelly pitched the final 2.2 innings, allowing three runs on four hits. 

Marywood will host Baptist Bible College in a non-conference doubleheader Monday with the first game starting at 12:00 noon.
