Scranton, PA - Marywood University Head Softball Coach Bob Fitzsimmons earned his 200th career victory as the Pacers swept Baptist Bible College in a two-game CSAC series, with both games ending by scores of 10-0 after 4 1/2 innings.  Fitzsimmons entered the doubleheader one win shy of the career milestone, as did BBC Coach Bill Higley. Higley remains at the 199 career win mark after the Pacers took both from the Defenders.

Fitzsimmons becomes the winningest coach in Marywood athletics history, surpassing former women's tennis coach Janice Kane-Winslow, who had 199 career victories.

Perhaps more important to Coach Fitzsimmons, Marywood remained tied atop the CSAC standings with the wins. The Pacers are 13-7 overall and 12-2 in league play, and sit tied atop the standings with Neumann and Immaculata, who are both 14-2 in league play.

Marywood exploded for four runs in the opening inning of the twinbill, highlighted by a two-run single from Brooke Labs and a sacrifice RBI from Stephanie Bagniewski. In the third, Marywood added two on a RBI groundout by Labs and a RBI triple from Bagnewski. The Pacers used a four-run fourth to put the game out of reach.

Labs had four RBI in the opener and Bagniewski had three. Lindsey Gibbs (7-2) won, striking out five over four full innings of work.  Emily Perruso pitched a scoreless fifth, allowing just one hit.

In the nightcap, Labs went deep in the second inning, her second long ball of the year. That put the Pacers up 1-0, and they would double their lead later in the inning before scoring four in the third and four more in the fourth to make it 10-0.
Labs finished the nightcap 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI. Kathleen Rossi was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Alyssa Bavaro (5-4) allowed just three hits over four innings to pick up the win. Perruso again closed out the game with a scoreless fifth for the Pacers.

Marywood is slated to host Rosemont College Tuesday in another CSAC twinbill, weather depending.
