LaPlume, PA - Trailing 6-4 in the top of the fifth, Marywood University had a chance to tie their game up against host Keystone College on an RBI hit from Thomas Richards, but an unfortunate and untimely injury to Vince Rebar kept the hosts in the lead and the Giants would add late inning insurance runs to secure a 13-5 win over the Pacers Wednesday afternoon at Christy Mathewson Field in LaPlume.  Marywood fell to 4-4 (0-1 CSAC) with the loss while Keystone improved to 7-9 overall and 4-0 in league play with the win.

After the two teams traded runs over the first two innings, Marywood found themselves in a 6-4 hole with the bases loaded and two outs in the fifth.  Richards ripped a single to left-center, scoring one run easily, but Rebar, who was attempting to score from second and would have scored easily, pulled up limp with a straigned hamstring while rounding third, allowing Keystone's shortstop to run over and tag him out for the final out of the inning.

Marywood would not recover from there, as Keystone tacked on seven more runs over the next four innings, including a three-run bottom half of the fifth that put the game out of reach.  Lymbel Guerrero led the Giants with a 4-for-5, five RBI day at the plate.  Richards was 2-for-5 with two RBI for Marywood, while Rebar was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Marywood is scheduled to return to action Friday with a single game at Centenary College in New Jersey.
