Immaculata, PA - Host Immaculata University got all the runs they needed in the bottom of the first inning and the Mighty Macs avoided a series sweep with a 4-1 win over visiting Marywood University Wednesday afternoon.  Immaculata improved to 15-11 overall and 6-6 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference while Marywood fell to 12-10 (4-6 CSAC).

The hosts scored three times in the first, enough runs to hold off the Pacers the rest of the way.  Rick DiDomenico started things off with an RBI triple to left center.  He would then score on a wild pitch as Immaculata went up 2-0.  A sacrifice fly later in the inning made it 3-0, and Marywood could not mount a comeback the rest of the way.

Pacers' starter Bryan Noonan settled down after the first, but fell to 2-3 on the year after taking the loss.  Noonan went seven innings on the mound, allowing two earned runs on four hits while fanning two.  Justin Perez pitched the eighth for Marywood without allowing any more damage to be done.

Daniel Hull picked up the Pacers' lone RBI on the day in the sixth inning with an RBI double that scored Erik Pulkkinen.  Pulkinnen finished the game as the only Marywood player with multiple hits as he was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Marywood returns to action Friday when they host Gwynedd Mercy University at 3:00 pm.
