Pacers Advance to 5th Straight CSAC Title Match

Easton, PA - Second-seed Marywood University beat #3 Baptist Bible College 5-0 Friday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference Men's Tennis semifinal.  The Pacers, winners of the last four CSAC titles and NCAA automatic bids, advance to their fifth consecutive title match, where they will take on top seed Neumann University.  Neumann defeated Gwynedd Mercy in the other semifinal.  Marywood improved to 8-3 on the year while BBC ends their season with a 7-7 mark. 

Ryan Mulqueen and Mark Van Nort, fresh off First Team All-CSAC honor as doubles partners in the top flight, won 8-5 over BBC's Adam Benjamin and Spencer Fountain.  Anthony Aveline and Brendan Brown were 8-3 winners for the Pacers at #2 doubles while Steven Garubba and Gavin Coyne won 8-4 at #3. 

In singles action, Mulqueen downed Benjamin 6-4, 6-3 and Garubba earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Kory Knupp to end the match.

Marywood and the Knights will take the the courts at approximately 2:00 pm.  Neumann edged the Pacers 5-4 on April 13, ending the Pacers' five-year conference regular season unbeaten streak that covered 32 matches.
