Dunmore, PA - Marywood University downed Cairn University 8-0 in both games of Sunday's CSAC softball action despite playing its first "home" game at a local park in Dunmore. Marywood played at Sherwood Park in order to get the doubleheader in, but playing away from campus had litte effect on the Pacers' bats as they pounded out 24 hits on the day. Marywood took the 8-0 opener in five innings and the 8-0 nightcap in six. The Pacers improved to 7-5 overall and 6-0 in league play while the Highlanders fell to 8-9 (3-7 CSAC).

Mariah Runco was strong for the second game in a row. A day after going 5-for-7 with eight RBI, Runco went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate. She was 2-for-2 in the opener with a RBI and double and two runs scored and went 3-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored in the nightcap.

In the first game, Marywood also got multiple hit games from Diana Butash (2-for-3, two runs, double) and Sarah Recanati (2-for-3, three RBI, two doubles). Lindsey Gibbs got the win on the mound, striking out 11 on the day while allowing just two hits over five full innings of work for the complete-game, improving her record to 4-1 on the year.

In the nightcap, Alyssa Bavaro evened her record at 3-3 on the year with a complete-game two hitter over six innings.  Bavaro fanned three in the win. Chelsea Zimmerman and Runco were both 3-for-3. Samantha Rayhon picked up two RBI for the Pacers.
