Immaculata, PA - After leading much of game one and falling 3-2 on a walk-off homer by Immaculata University, Marywood rallied behind Diana Butash's three home run nightcap to salvage a series split with the Mighty Macs.  The loss in the opener was the first CSAC defeat of the season for the Pacers, as they move to 8-6 overall and 7-1 in league play.  Immaculata now stands at 11-7, 8-2 CSAC with the split.

Butash had never hit one over the fence technically, until today, as she led Marywood to a 15-6 win in the nightcap.  Butash would finish the second game 4-for-5 with five RBI and four runs scored.  Marywood went up 3-0 highlighted by a two-run homer from Brooke Labs.

In the second, Marywood got two important runs on a two-run shot from Sarah Recanati.  Those runs proved important as the host Might Macs rallied in the bottom half of the inning with a four run frame, but still trailed the Pacers, 5-4.

In the fourth, Butash hit a solo homer.  In the fifth, Butash hit a two-run shot and Mariah Runco followed with a two run shot of her own.  In the sixth, Butash hit a two-run blast to left center to close out her long balls for the day.

Emily Perruso (1-1) got the win on the mound after allowing one earned run (six total) on eight hits over five innings.

Marywood led 2-0 in the opener through six and a half innings of play.  After four scoreless innings, the Pacers went up 1-0 in the top of the fifth on a throwing error that allowed Stephanie Bagniewski to score the game's first run.  Butash would single to start the top of the sixth, and a three-base Mighty Mac error allowed her to score.

But the hosts ralled in the bottom of the seventh, scoring an unearned run to cut the Pacers lead to 2-1 and then getting a walk-off two-run homer from leadoff hitter Rachel Kelly.  Both teams combined for just two hits in the opener.  Lindsey Gibbs fell to 4-2 on the mound after allowing three unearned runs and striking out eight.  Immaculata's Meaghan Fitzgerald (7-2) got the win, allowing two unearned runs while fanning six Marywood batters.

Marywood returns to the diamond Friday with a doubleheader at Neumann University.
