Big First Half Leads Marywood Past Cedar Crest, 19-3

Allentown, PA - Marywood University raced out to a 17-1 first half lead en route to a 19-3 win over host Cedar Crest College Tuesday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's lacrosse action. With the win, Marywood improved to 5-8 overall and 4-2 in league play while the Falcons remain winless at 0-9 (0-3 CSAC).

The Pacers got three goals and an assist from Stacy Griffing and four goals from Sarah Caughy, who led numerous Marywood players with multiple points on the day.  Natalie Burke had three points on two goals and an assist, Kathy DiGiacomo came within one helper of tying the single-game assist record for Marywood after her one goal, five assist day.  Her six points led the Pacers on the day. 

Emily Osborne (one goal, one assist), Kimberly Commisso and Michele Thompson (two goals apiece) also had multiple points in the win. 

Marywood was up 5-0 just 3:36 into the game, and after Cedar Crest scored their lone goal of the first half, Marywood scored the nexts 13 goals of the game. 

In goal, Marywood got a full-game effort from Leigha Dolcemascolo, who recorded five saves for her first win of the season.

Marywood returns to action Saturday with a trip to Notre Dame University of Maryland.  Face-off in Baltimore is set for 1:00 pm.
